Do adults really believe that "Professional Wresting" like the WWE is real?

I've known since I was in grade school that the WWF (or now the WWE) is fake. How come some adults don't know this or at least act like they don't. I've heard people talk about how so-and-so wrestler went to Wrestlemania and did this and that. One guy said somethiong to me like one wrestler "got technical" on another and that's how he beat him. Can someone help me on this one?|||The bumps, chair shots and falls in the ring is what is real about "professional wrestling". The rest (storyline, certain spots and outcome) is scripted days, sometimes hours before the show. Everyone knows this. However, it still takes skills and training to be able to do what they do in the ring. Contrary to popular belief, that ring isn't some trampoline.|||When watching Rocky do you say the boxing is fake?





Most of us know it isn't real, we talk in the context of the show. If we just talked about it saying "He won because they told him too" its not as interesting a debate as who is the better wrestler, yes some fans do say that and yes it is fairly stupid but hey not all fans of anything are smart right? Pretending its real and not knowing it isn't are different, most wrestling fans know the difference and just because we can talk about something in a context doesn't make us stupid or anything else.





Fake is a naive word to use anyways, just because the ending is planned and in the context of a show its made out to be real doesn't mean its "fake" the moves hurt, ask yourself this is it harder to try hurt someone 5 times a year like a boxer/UFC fighter or is it harder to make it look like you are hurting someone (it doesn't always i know that but that's the idea) while keeping them safe 300 times a year?|||Heck No! I knew that when I was a child! Case in point: After a WWE wrestling event I went to many years ago (when there was WWF, ECW and WCW) I went to the back of the Stadium to meet the wrestlers ,and those that were sworn enemies in the ring left together in Limos!|||Kayfabe , Keeping in Character , Suspending Belief , etc...





It's like Talking about a Movie as if it were Real...Just for the Fun of It.





*Note* - Not Fake, Scripted...|||i doubt it, but it still takes talent to be a pro wrestler, even though it is fake. not jut anyone could go there and do that stuff|||NO it like realy fake ........ well the only real one is the match with the fire and the first blood match|||Its called "kayfabe". Its like talking about a movie plot even though its not real.|||They are trying to make the kids think its real and just play along knowing its fake.|||PROBABLY NOT|||Its a lot more fun if you look at it as if it where real.|||Wrestling's fake????





Oh, Vince should cancel the Santa Vs Easter Bunny Steel cage match then......|||wwe fans are idiots. ive seen some adults cry because their favorite "wrestler" lost|||No but it's fun to watch.|||i hope not
